Dr. Zayas is a board certified Diagnostic Radiologist and Interventional Radiologist serving the Miami area. He earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Zayas completed his radiology residency training at University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, acting as chief resident in his fourth year. He completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology from the University of Maryland Medical Center. At UMMC-Shock Trauma Center, he received training in all aspects of vascular medicine, with emphasis on interventional oncology and care for trauma patients. Prior to working in Miami, he served for 3 years as co-director of the Interventional Radiology division at Pavia Hospital-Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Dr. Zayas is currently a faculty member at Mercy Hospital, Kendall Regional Medical Center, and Aventura Hospital and Medical Center where he performs a wide variety of interventional radiology procedures. He has special interest in management and treatment of venous and arterial thromboembolic disease, vascular traumatic injuries, interventional oncology, peripheral arterial disease and general urologic interventions. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
